You must verify that each of the services you enabled has a log file that matches what fail2ban is expecting. logpath = %(sshd_log)s which further maps to: sshd_log = %(syslog_authpriv)s and then depends on a specific distro file like paths-fedora.conf:syslog_authpriv = /var/log/secure If the file is not found, fail2ban won't start. If you know where the file is then just edit manually the logpath line and that will fix your problem.

hklcf From your logs, it should be that fail2ban was not installed successfully. please try to reinstall the pulgin
