MySQL 5.7 to MariaDB 10.3+

Hi Teams,

I want to change my MySQL5.6 to MariaDB 10.3+. Can I just install new version of MariaDB and switch to it?
I run MySQL5.6 for my 7-8 WordPress sites feel not good at performance and want to try MariaDB. Any idea I can switch without any problems. Thanks!

To switch mysql to MariaDB, it is recommended to take a snapshot of the server first, and then back up all databases and record the name, user, and password of the database.
Delete all databases after doing these operations. Then switch to MariaDB. Pay attention to whether the installation is successful or not. After the installation is successful, the database name, user, and password recorded before need to be established correspondingly in "Databases"

MySQL always use lots system memory. Is that normal?
I do some research found MariaDB better than MySQL. Do you guys recommend for change/upgrade? Thanks!

Hello, it is normal, this depends on the configuration of the server and the quality of the SQL statement. You can refer to some of our suggestions here.
Personally suggest that if mysql can be used normally, it is not recommended to change.
