gnurtvo What are the contents of the log when you run "journalctl -xe" right after attempting to start the service? There should be messages written with regards to that service. "systemctl status mysqld.service" will give you an abbreviated version of that, what does the output for that look like? Barring that, you can see in the above example that the database will log errors to a .err file, you can cat the contents of that file to get the error the service is encountering.

gnurtvo Honestly, that's not a great sign, first lets try resetting the the Page Cache on that system while its dead idle with: sync&&echo 2 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches If it won't start after that, you may want to use innochecksum to see how many mismatches there are in the database if any, if there are... you should probably just delete the existing corrupt database file and restore from a backup, failing that if you don't think its too bad you can use the --write crc32 option and have it commit the actual checksums into the database file so it won't be seen as 'corrupt' anymore but the data still won't be what its supposed to be. The TL;DR is that you've got database corruption and the best way forward is to restore from the backup taken before the upgrade.
