How safe is it to delete db and upgrade to mysql8

I tried to switch mysql version, and it asked me to backup and delete all my DBs, I was wondering if anyone had tried this. I don't want to delete everything and later to find mysql8 doesn't work so I have to reset my server.

Hello, it is recommended to take a server snapshot backup before operation to avoid other errors or data loss.
Back up all databases first, then uninstall mysql, and then install mysql
If the installation is not successful, please check the installation log:/tmp/panelExec.log
