Can't enable wildcard * in dns manager

I just tried adding '*' as host record for wildcard subdomains. But it gives error as incorrect hostname.
Please help as how to enable it.

I have the last version of DNS Manager Which is the correct way to add a wildcard a record? DNS Manager does not allows me to add *.mysite.com

I tested adding * is working
