Hello aaPanel community,
I am currently running MySQL 8.0.36 installed via aaPanel and the panel shows that version 8.0.45 is available.
When I check the upgrade option, aaPanel suggests replacing the existing installation. However, I am concerned about losing my existing databases if MySQL must be uninstalled first.
My questions are:
1. Is there a safe way to upgrade MySQL from 8.0.36 to 8.0.45 directly inside aaPanel without uninstalling the MySQL app?
2. If uninstalling MySQL is required, will the existing databases in /www/server/mysql/data remain intact, or will they be deleted during the uninstall process?
3. Is there a recommended manual upgrade procedure for aaPanel users that preserves all databases and configurations?
4. Are there any official steps or best practices recommended by the aaPanel team for minor version upgrades within MySQL 8.0.x?
My server environment:
• aaPanel latest version
• MySQL 8.0.36
• Ubuntu server
• Production environment with multiple databases
I would like to upgrade to MySQL 8.0.45 safely without risking data loss.
Any guidance or recommended procedure would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
