Hello,
I’m using aaPanel on Ubuntu 24.04 with PHP 7.4.33.
My current PHP 7.4 cURL configuration is:
libcurl: 7.70.0
OpenSSL: 1.0.2u
HTTP/2: Not supported
However, the system curl installed on the server already supports HTTP/2.
I also have these newer libraries installed:
/usr/local/curl_2 → cURL 7.74.0 with OpenSSL 1.1.1o
/usr/local/openssl111 → OpenSSL 1.1.1o
I want to enable HTTP/2 support specifically for PHP 7.4’s cURL extension, using nghttp2 if required.
I found aaPanel instructions suggesting compiling nghttp2, rebuilding cURL with --with-nghttp2, and then rebuilding PHP. However, I want to know the correct and safest procedure for PHP 7.4 on aaPanel.
I have several production Telegram bots currently running on PHP 7.4, so I must not break the existing PHP 7.4 installation, its extensions, PHP-FPM configuration, or the bots.
I want to upgrade/rebuild the required cURL and PHP 7.4 components safely while preserving the current PHP 7.4 configuration and extensions.
What is the recommended procedure?
Do I need to:
Compile/install nghttp2.
Rebuild cURL with HTTP/2 support.
Rebuild PHP 7.4.33 so its cURL extension links to the new libcurl.
Or is there an aaPanel-supported method to enable HTTP/2 in PHP 7.4 without rebuilding the entire PHP installation?
Please provide the exact recommended steps and explain how to avoid breaking the existing PHP 7.4 installation and production bots.
