File opens twice in editor

Hi,
When I double click a file in the File Manager, it opens in the editor as expected.
But when I double click a file in the "left pane" in the editor, 2 copies of it open in the editor. Kindly fix this as it creates a confusion and also leads to saving of wrong copy after editing.
