Hi aaPanel team,
The Redis 8.10.1 -> 8.10.2 update in the App Store hung for over 17 hours. The new version downloaded and compiled, but /tmp/panelExec.log ended with:
Build complete.
OK
Stopping ...
Could not connect to Redis at 127.0.0.1:0: Connection refused
redis.sh update 8.10 was waiting for /etc/init.d/redis stop, which was waiting for redis-cli. /www/server/redis/start.pl contained only a newline. The init script did not validate this value and ran redis-cli with -p shutdown. Redis-cli interpreted shutdown as the port, tried port 0, and waited for input. The running Redis server was still healthy on port 6379.
After backing up the RDB and configuration, I set start.pl to 6379, shut Redis down cleanly, and released the blocked client. The update then completed. There was a second issue during handover: systemd Restart=always started Redis while the update script was replacing the directory, causing competing processes on port 6379. I had to stabilize the service using a foreground-mode systemd override. Redis 8.10.2 now runs correctly, responds to PING, and loads the RDB after restart.
Please validate the port in start.pl (or fall back to redis.conf), add a timeout/error exit to the stop command, and coordinate the update with systemd so it cannot restart Redis during the directory swap.
Thanks.
