Mail Server Import Option Doesn't work

Mail server has an import option that asks to put tar.gz file. I uploaded tar.gz and also tried zip. But, none do anything. It just simply go and get saved under backup directory. Can I import it or it doesn't work at all?

Is the file imported exported from the mail server?

aaPanel_Jose No it wasn't I firgured this is the issue. However, I had to get rid of Mailserver, 'coz it doesn't work on Mobile or Desktop Mail Apps. tried the given IMAP/Pop and SMTP settings, but it never connects. I check the post shows there and there were not blocked.

idflorin can u configure mail on Mobile? I tried sending from AAPanel and it works. I can also receive. But IMAP and POP sync doesn't work at all. Mobile doesn't verify it.

zohebnsr it works on mobile, thunderbird, etc
thunderbird I use every day.

idflorin Yes, same settings I am using. Not sure. I will have to retest. I was in rush as my email was inactive. So got a Honstinger email plan (Prepay for 2 years). It was cheap, cost me $1/month for email with 10GB storage lol.

im running centos 8 and mail server is working as expected. i was impressed that much i migrated my business domains to it. the trick with the mail server is to set up the mail.domain.etc as a web server, add the ssl, then add it to the mail server section. Im assuming you did that?

warra Yes, I did the same. I am running CentOS 7.

warra I don't use "mail.domain.com" .etc as a web server. I simply use domain.com and added all settings in my Contabo DNS manager.

As far as 'importing' goes.. when i migrated my archives, i just tarballed them on old server (/var/vmail folder specifically), ftpd them to new server, then did a unatr in root preserving timestamps, otherwise you end up with an inbox with thousands of new emails with todays date and time stamps. made the example.com mail server entries, opened roundcube to populate specific folders cos im lazy, and copied the stuff untar dir to the respective spots.. yeas its manual but literally takes less time to move than it does the tar from original server.
