Mail settings

Hello.

We recently moved from PLESK to aaPanel, for obvs. reasons. Pricing 😛

Now, with this process, we need emails. While I followed procedure and guidance at the following tutorial, I still can't get them to run.

Ports that I opened for mail-server: 25, 587, 993 and 143

Is there something else, I was supposed to do? I checked if my ports are opened, and from the Security dashboard, it's showing that they are listening and after checking the ports, they are also opened (not blocked or accessible).

I really don't know what else I could have done, to get them to work, but I really need them, since I am the one, that was supposed to run them, for the organization.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I can't send or receive emails.

MrFoxy what os are you using ?and could you please inform us the log output
(/var/log/mail.log or /var/log/maillog) ?

Upon checking the log, the IP is unknown to me and it's based somewhere in Bulgaria. The IP address should be somewhere in Germany.

connect to 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024: Connection refused --> please check whether the amavisd and clamd@amavisd service are running.
the ip 212.70.149.85 and 212.70.149.54 (IPs from England) were many times trying to connect to your MTA, please block these ip addresses using fail2ban (put them as blacklist) if you don't recognize them.

ganteng Cheers for the reply 😃 Tho, I don't know where you got England from those 2 IPs, but they are from Bulgaria.

In regards to connection refused, I'll dive in with my friend, who'll take a look at it and knows a thing or 2 more than me...well, more then that haha

ganteng please check whether the amavisd and clamd@amavisd service are running.

Message from my friend:

Amvisd is stopped and I can't start it via aapanel and when I service amvisd, it doesn't find the service so I can't do troubleshooting.

do you need antispam/anti-virus service for your email, honestly the services will slow down your server since it consumes huge resources ?otherwise, uncheck antispam from your domain and uninstall email anti-spam software from aaPanel.
to search amavisd service, please execute following commands :

sudo systemctl list-units | grep amavis

in my case :
systemctl list-units | grep amavis
amavisd.service loaded active running Amavis mail content checker
clamd@amavisd.service loaded active running clamd scanner (amavisd) daemon

sudo systemctl start amavisd.service
sudo systemctl start clamd@amavisd.service
sudo systemctl enable amavisd.service
sudo systemctl enable clamd@amavisd.service
