Just installed for first time on a Centos 8 vps. "update" link top banner menu on right, doesn't provide any option to upgrade to beta channel. The "update now" button is showing a no click icon. Had to run "rm -f /www/server/panel/data/admin_path.pl" in order to access web gui. How do I fix the security back to original now that I'm in?

Another bug:
"dashboard only displays 12 items", when I enable for more apps, but only 9 are displayed in dashboard so far.

aaP_chad this is known bug: just change the order of 9 items, then you will see 12 items.
