VPS SERVER DISPLAY 170 GB whereas physical site size not more than 1 GB

When take backup of site , seems size is not more than 1 GB but vps server display 170 GB used ? What is the problem

You can try this commend in SSH to find out what folder is taking a lot of space:
du -a / | sort -n -r | head -n 10

you can also find the occupied directory file through the panel file management
