SSL

When I try to enable SSL on my website I get the following error:
(domain is edited out on the screenshot)

I tried it a few times today (all more than an hour apart) but it keeps giving the same error with different challenges that don't match.

Is this a known issue? I can't seem to find any information about it on the forums.

Did you add your ,htacces rules?

Using CentOS 8. .htaccess file is not changed from the aaPanel default.

I did notice just now it only happens when I try to enable the ssl for both www.example.com and example.com.

If I only try example.com the SSL cert gets validated as expected.

Fyi, the "www" is basically a subdomain.

idflorin Yes, that's exactly how my setup looks like. In the "SSL" tab I selected both domains when trying to activate SSL.

pavah78541 Hmmm, I can't think of anything. As a workaround, you can use DNS validation. I used this once on a VPS from Contabo and it works( the renewal process doesn't but it's normal since I didn't use the DNS manager provided by aapanel).
Btw, If is a new VPS you should ditch Centos 8 and use Centos 7.

idflorin Figured as much, it's just a bit weird. Btw, do I keep the DNS records in place or do I need to change them every time the cert needs to be renewed? Never used DNS validation before.

And thanks for the tip, but I'm migrating it to Rocky Linux instead 🙂

idflorin We've been running aaPanel with Rocky on a few dev servers for about a month or so, and so far it works like a charm. Haven't had any issues yet. Although we don't use nginx (using apache), pma or mail at all so can't comment on that 🙂

pavah78541 Thanks. I could easily switch to apache, but I like my emails and the Nginx free firewall.

pavah78541 No and no. it's just the Nginx 1.19.8 from aapanel. I'm using only free apps on €4.99 VPS's from Contabo.
