Cron jobs accessing urls on this server

i have setup a Cron job using the access URL. The url is on this server. I can access the site and everything but the cron job will not access it. I get a

"curl: (7) Failed to connect to mydomain.com port 443: Connection refused"

it does the same thing on port 80. What am I missing? this should be simple

aaP_dcunningham whitelist or blocked porta? Check on firewall.

not sure what you mean. Both 443 and 80 are unblocked on my firewall and on the machine. I can reach them through their domains. https://dhptraining.com. Unless there is a specific port I am supposed to open for CURL I don't quite understand. I am still really new to this. This is only happening when I use a cron job using the "Access URL" option.
