How set password on mailserver for email client

Hello
I installed the mailserver and it's working , I can send and recieve
email.
trying to use my email client . It is configured correctly, I
use this same program with several email services.

Client connects to server put the password will not authenticate.
Message popup " connected -- password will no authenticate "

The ssl certificate is installed and working

It does this on SSL / TLS --- STARTTLS
Also does it with authentication method set
to - off - so there is no encryption.

On the email client I used the password I put into
the email server -- email user manager

Is this where the password for the email client is configured ?
Does anyone know how to get password working ?

Hi, what mail client are you? Can I send and receive emails after adding? Does the server provider's firewall have the relevant ports open?

Email Client is thunderbird . use this same program with several
email services.
I can send and recieve emails with aapanel but not client

Using default ports -- all are open on client /
and on aapanel firewall. service provider's ports are all open.

POP service [ Server Port 110 / 995 ]
IMAP service [ Server Port 143 / 993 ]
SMTP service [ Server Port 25 / 465 / 587 ]

Used this website to test aapanel mailserver

This testing tool was able to connect to aapanel mail
server with no password ------- SSL on or off

When I used the testing tool with password
it came back with this error mesaage

IMAP error 402
authentication failed
last command [ Log in ]

Email client thunderbird and online testing
tool have the same problem. -----
They both connect but can not authenticate
username / password .

can password be set with terminal command ?

Hello, I tested my mail server with SSL enabled and the verified domain is *.xx.com,xx.com
Validation results:
Error is displayed when using IMAP off.
When using IMAP on, the display is OK.

I have configured thunderbird the same way
as your email client. ---- doesn't work.

When I use the online tool with IMAP ssl on
or off, I get IMAP error indicating that the
username and password will not authenticate.

IMAP error 402
authentication failed
last command [ Log in ]

My problem is on the aapanel mail server.
It is not verifying the name and password for
the email client.
Can name and password be set with terminal ?
