Like the title... the Panel ssl isn't works at all.... Well to explain, on past i already do ALOT sites with aapanel... but this year... this is my first time installing aapanel again....because new project and new vps.... BUT yeah like the title.... why i can't secure panel with ssl... what i remember is Bind sites with domain Check, is the panel can be accessible with the domain or not.... Turn on the ssl.... change http to https of the panel... done... but... when i do this... for some reason... the panel can't be accessed with ssl.... it says This site can’t provide a secure connection........ ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR can someone assist me for this? is this just me... or what? i just confuse.... what i remember on past is just do that all... and done... panel will be get the ssl.... no error or anything.... 🙁

umm added new info even self signed certificate also shown error btw i already reinstall all of it 2 times now... Centos 7 Linode.... everything works except SSL on panel....

Came here to report the same issue, and found this thread already open. The problem started in version 6.8.25 . Version 6.8.24 did not have this problem, I made several installations. I tested it on CentOS 7 and Ubuntu 20.04 , and on both there is this problem when enabling SSL from the Panel when version 6.8.25 was released. This is exactly what happens: after linking a domain to the Panel and enabling SSL with Let's Encrypt, the panel informs that SSL has been enabled and soon after the page is refreshed, the browser displays the error "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR". I checked in the directory /www/server/panel/vhost/letsencrypt if the Let's Encrypt certificate was generated, and it is there, it was generated, but the directory /www/server/panel/ssl was not created with the files of certificates used by the Panel, so after creating it manually and creating the files "certificate.pem" and "privateKey.pem", the panel loaded again with SSL enabled.

There is one more problem that I found in this version 6.8.25 . The Security Risk panel is not working, it is not reporting security risks, for example, in new installations, it should inform that the default port is being used and must be changed, but it does not. Clicking retest also has no effect.

so just using that for manage the domain

why ssl fail.... and the sites of my project (not the panel domain) is having Curl error....

maybe i should wait the next version update for this 🙁
idk what happen to other people who successfully install their ssl....
for my case....

The panel fail to install the ssl...
The website inside aapanel can be installed by ssl... but for some things like my project who need secure curl... they can't do it maybe because the ssl (on my old hosting, this things was no issue)

i hope i can get the ssl working perfect like on past when i installing aapanel........
i mean....
on past the way you install ssl is very simple....

Bind domain
check is the domain can be accessed or not... if yes then next
turn on ssl.... wait the system installing ssl.... and reload....
ssl installed... no error no anything... if error happen... exit the browser... or clear cache... and you will good to go....

but now... the error like on the pic is appear everytime i about to install it on panel....
maybe that's all for now.... it's about 1 week full now... and the issue has no solution for my case 🙁 idk what went wrong...

aaPanel_Kern 🙂 FINALLY THIS MORNING I FOUND THE ISSUE

here the things...
All i do is always insatall aapanel in "no ssl" when we using the ssh.... like always.... (in past... i also do this)
but for some reason, this version of aapanel seems doesn't like that....
so what i do is last 2 try today is install it with "yes" for all option

www yes....
ssl yes...
and then just do like always do...

bind the domain
refresh... if ok then configure ssl for domain the domain
refresh.... and i really sure... you will be allright...

2 test with this method working....
meanwhile... when i try to do this with optin "ssl no" at installation.... this didn't works...
maybe this is the bug....

but my issue solved now.... ummmm maybe you can reproduce it bro, aaPanel_Kern
i afraid that other's people also do this....

i hope next version will be more perfect than this version
and 1 more things again... maybe you can ask the dev team to add "litespeed webserver" it's openlitespeed but with more feature (paid but cheap)
the advantage is they said it's full support for all apache configuration... so it's worth to try.... alot of my previous hosting using that.. i hope you can forward it to the dev team 😀 it's okay if they on the very bottom in the to-do list... but atleast when other things already done.... they will take care of it 🙂

The new version is in beta, and there is no firm release date yet. This is panel ssl and has nothing to do with the website.
A suggestion to add litespeed I'll note.

aaPanel_Kern because with this ssl error...my project sites that need secure curl command had error, on my hosting.... shared hosting... the curl works perfect... i really sure it's had correlation with ssl error.... but yeah... maybe i must wait next update before moving my sites 🙂 anyway if someone having ssl issue... before any update
ask them to reinstall panel with ssl on

What does dns not work mean? Unable to parse? Did you add the A record to point to the server?
