roundcube SMTP Error (): Connection to server failed.

I hope someone can help me. I have tried everything to get this working but had no luck
. When I try to send an email, I get an SMTP Error (): Connection to the server failed.

After messing around with it all weekend I finally got it working like this
$config['smtp_host'] = 'localhost:25';
$config['smtp_auth_type'] = 'PLAIN';
$config['smtp_user'] = '%u';
$config['smtp_pass'] = '%p';
but I had to disable // $config['smtp_host'] = 'tls://email.kpdomains.co.uk:587';

I have also notice when I add it to outlook or mail I get the following error saying that there is a problem with the SSL certificate

Hello, is the domain name you are using the same as the domain name that is SSL certified?
Check whether the SSL set up by the mail server contains the A record subdomain of the MX record?

Thank you for your reply. I have resolved the SSL issues, and the error no longer appears.

However, I’m still unable to use the following SMTP configuration:

Could you please advise on what might be causing the issue?

Hello, it is recommended that you use port 25 and use localhost
