Hello aaPanel Team,
I would like to suggest an improvement for the backup system in aaPanel. Currently, when I want to create backups, I need to manually create a new scheduled task each day if I want backups at a fixed time. This is very inconvenient.
Feature request 1 – Scheduled backups at fixed times:
It would be very useful if aaPanel allowed us to configure a recurring backup task (for example: daily at 02:00 AM, or every Monday/Friday at 23:00). At the moment, this has to be set up manually every single day, which is not practical.
Feature request 2 – More accurate backup size estimation:
When creating a backup, aaPanel currently shows something like:
Estimated space needed: 1 TB
Current disk free space: 1.47 TB
However, once the backup is finished, the actual size is much smaller (for example only 29.92 GB). This is confusing and may mislead users into thinking their disk is not sufficient.
Suggestions:
• Improve the estimation logic to reflect the real expected size more accurately.
• Or clearly show that this is only a very rough estimate (e.g. based on raw data size, not the compressed backup).
These two improvements (scheduled backups + realistic space estimation) would make the backup system much more reliable and user-friendly.
