Hi, I have installed aaPanel on Ubuntu Server 20.04 (we are using a headless Dell PowerEdge R340). We have chosen Apache with PHP (both versions 5.6 & 7.4) and MySQL. Our problem is that no matter what the php files cannot be parsed/executed. In both PHP versions. To eliminate the PHP erros we are using a php file containing only phpinfo() function. The HTML files work properly. Apache serves them without any problem. Can you please help me out with this? I am stack for 3 days! Regards Dimitris

when PHP files downloaded rather than executed, then this meant your PHP not working. Try to Uninstall then Install again PHP.

Thnx a lot for the prompt respond ! But my problem isn't the PHP that is not running. I followed your hint and reinstalled PHP. From my terminal php is working. php --version repsonds with the php running version. Can you please advice? I have the same issue with Apache and Nginx. I also used both php 7.4 and php 5.6. I also uninstalled everything. aapanel, php (both versions) apache, nginx, phpmyadmin. Everything. And reinstalled aapanel, php 7.4 and Nginx. The behavior is the same. I am stack for a week and I cannot find a solution

Please note that you can run PHP from CLI event without install PHP from App Store! This meant your PHP was installed by your OS, which not connect to your Web Server. So, you must: Uninstall PHP from App Store if any then reinstall PHP from App Store again NB: to make sure every thing is okay then you may Uninstall both Apache/Nginx and PHP, then FIRST install Apache/Nginx then install PHP.

Still problem, I renamed .htaccess I use this php file to check the fumctionality This time I installed Nginx. You think I should prefer Apache ? I prefer Apache but I wanred to change smth. So should uninstall Nginx or is there smth to be careful about ?

I switched between Nginx and Apache trying to make it work ! As you can see in my current configuration I have installed only Nginx and PHP. Trying to find the correct configuration I had even aapanel uninstalled and install everything again. I have noticed that I cannot delete everyting. The starnge think is that it is a fresh clean Intsallation.
CentOs 7 minimal Server on a Dell PowerEdge R340.
On top of this I only installed aapanel. I shouldn't have a problem.
It must something smal tiny configuration. That's my feeling.

STATIC CAN NOT BE SELECTED.

P.S. - It's 2021. You're installing an EOL OS.
CentOS 7 is dead. aaPanel is compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, AlmaLinux 8, Oracle Linux 8. Get rid of outdated installations.

Jay suggested to leave Ubuntu and install CentOs 7. I know that CentOs 7 is dead. I was trying to make it work at any cost.
I will test in a while. At the moment I am patching the CentOs 8. My next step will be aapanel

I agree with not ubuntu, shit distro.
But CentOS8 is not that interesting since CentOS Linux has been discontinued and has been shifted to CentOS Stream.
CentOS Stream is not a production OS.

You have better options (and supported by aaPanel). Personally I would recommend AlmaLinux 8 - it is a distro on the RHEL8/OL8/ CentOS 8 family, developed by CloudLinux, and faced to web servers. I have 2 web servers with AlmaLinux and aaPanel, everything is working fine. I also have another with Oracle Linux 8 and aaPanel, also working fine.

My major issue is that this server is a Dell PowerEdge R340 with raid controller. Dell recommends RHEL (which I have to pay for) Ubuntu and Windows (https://www.dell.com/support/home/el-gr/drivers/supportedos/poweredge-r340). I asked the support and they said CentOs will be fine. The problem is that the raid controller is not supported by many OSs.
I have just isntalled CentOs 8 and aapanel. Only these. And I have the same problem. PHP files are not parsed.

The funny thing is that in an everyday desktop I had installed aapnel and CentOs 8 and it worked fine. So....

There is a new licensing model for Red Hat Enterprise Linux since CentOS Linux has been discontinued. You have to register on the red hat portal etc but you can use Red Hat for free on up to 16 production servers.

CentOS is now a pre-production OS. I wouldn't use it on a production system. Period.

Both Oracle Linux and AlmaLinux are Red Hat Enterprise Linux based distros. For your use case, I would probably go with Oracle Linux, I'm sure they also have support for the raid controller. Oracle Linux is also free.

I'm not sure why you're getting those errors, as usually aaPanel installs PHP and writes the needed configurations so PHP is parsed, it rarely needs extra configurations.

My suggestion would be for you to try another Linux distro (like RHEL if you want to give it a go or Oracle Linux), then try aaPanel. In my company we are no longer supporting CentOS. It's not a final product for production.

Thnx for the tip Dude. I have already registered to RHEL as a developer and I have obtained a LicenseBut for me it is strange! Without any peculiar action PHP doesn't work. I also installed at home a Virtual machine with CentOs 8. The same.
I just install the OS and later aapanel. It doesn;t make any sense. I am missing smth.
You are most welcome if you come up with any idea.

At the official site the latest revision is 6.8.14

Currently it is installed at Dell PowerEdge R 340 and the OS is CentOs 8 Desktop full installation (9,5Gb ISO)
And the behaviour is the same.
Before abandoning aapanel I will try the docker solution.
Can someone plz try a new fresh installation in any distro?
I refuse to accept that everytime I do exactly the same mistakes.
